Main Responsibilities

The Automation HW Test Engineer will be primarily responsible for the design and development of the product’s HW test bench and the related test software.

The test bench typically consists of mechanical components integrating electronic boards, connected to one or more measuring and calibration instruments. The test software defines the sequence and method for activating the electronic boards, the instrumentation, and the device under test (DUT), and performs verification of the expected results.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining the HW/SW requirements for production test benches
  • Developing and validating the test bench hardware (with support from Mechanical & HW engineers)
  • Developing and validating the test bench software
  • Optimizing testing and calibration sequences
  • Supporting fault analysis and continuously improving the test software to enhance coverage

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical/computer engineering or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Good knowledge of common programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, and the Visual Studio development environment
  • Basic electronics knowledge (ability to design simple electrical schematics and read/interpret more complex ones)
  • Familiarity with instrumentation used in an electronics lab

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of major industrial communication protocols such as ModBus RTU/TCP, CANopen, Profibus
  • Experience with LabVIEW and the NI TestStand framework

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, a team-oriented mindset, and good command of the English language.
